Western Regional based Highlife and Afrobeats act, Prince Ofori Ennim popularly known in Showbiz as Ras Moko made his appearance on one of Takoradi's best radio stations, Taadi FM's “Taadi Kwando” which was hosted by Henry D'Godson on Tuesday, the 1st of November, 2022.
Ras Moko's interview on the Taadi Kwando Show was a part of his Western Regional radio tour of his newly released single, “Sika B3ba” which he featured Ghanaian rap comedian, AY Poyoo, and his home-based colleague and ‘Maradona’ hitmaker, King Cyrus.
Even though the interview was based solely on his new tune, the host also delved into the life of the musician outside his music live and was mesmerized by Moko's innovative responses. Through D'Godson's questions, Ras Moko revealed that he was born in Kasoa, the Central part of Ghana but moved to Tarkwa at the age of eleven where it became his permanent hometown.
He further revealed that he attended the Ghana Armed Forces Senior High Technical School in Kumasi and continued his tertiary education at the Takoradi Technical University where he studied for two years and left due to a few problems. Before leaving the tertiary institute, Ras Moko won the “Tertiary Songwriter Of The Year” during the Tertiary Music Awards program at T.T.U in 2021.
Ras Moko began his musical career in 2017 when he was part of a musical group named “Gamick Religion” which consisted of himself, Nana Payjek, King Cyrus, and Halifa Gh but he spilt ways with them and became strictly independent under his record label, “Night Life Regime.” Under Night Life Regime, Ras Moko has released some songs like ‘One Corner Help, Hello Sir, Sika Tricks, Police’, and more.
Going back to his song, Ras Moko was asked whether he had no money that was why he chose ‘Sika B3ba’ which is translated in the Akan dialect as ‘Money Will Come’ by the host but he explained that the title of the song did not imply that he was broke but rather he recorded the song and titled it so to serve as an inspiration to the people out there facing hardships that no matter the situation, a better time will come and if such time was not near, such people should have hope, pray and work hard towards their dreams and everything will be fine.
Many other issues were discussed regarding his newly released project and his musical career including where he got his inspiration to write songs and also his musical role model(s). Ras Moko did not disappoint his fans and listeners as he ended his interview with a massive freestyle that wowed all listeners of the Taadi Kwando Show.
