A video of Ghanaian hip hop rapper, singer, songwriter and entrepreneur, Michael Owusu Addo popularly known as Sarkodie has popped up online which has turned into a source of inspiration for upcoming musicians and those who are striving to get into the music industry.
Sarkodie who came into the music limelight in 2005 has stayed relevant till now and keeps going even though many good rappers have also appeared in the music scene. He was born on the 10th of July, 1988 in Tema and started his music career as an underground act, contesting in street rap battles and musical reality shows like the ‘Adom FM Kasahare Level’ where he met his first manager (now former), Duncan Williams of Dunchills Entertainment.
He has worked with many great musicians both local and international like R2Bees, Efya, Idris Elba, Akwaboah, the late Ebony Reigns, Donae'O, Burna Boy, Shatta Wale, Vic Mensa, M.anifest and many more. Throughout his career, he has released great projects like the ‘Rapperholic, Sarkology, Mary, Highest and No Pressure’ album's which all made waves and topped musical charts worldwide.
The highest, as Sarkodie also goes by is yet to release a new album this month tagged “Jamz Album” to celebrate his decade plus success in the music industry on the 11th of November, 2022. One song off the album, “Fraud Niqqas In Suit (FNIS)” is already making waves and his fans can't wait to have a fill of the whole project.
Before all this success and hype, Sarkodie had to force his way through to make sure he could get to where he is now and the recent video of him which has popped up shows him in a studio with an old ‘keypad’ phone as his note.
